BASIC FUNCTION:
Oversee the day-to-day operational management of all activities and functions for the Chamber’s Membership Department. Help create and execute a Membership Strategy that meets the membership goals of the Chamber. Manage, inspire, and lead the Membership team. Provide excellent customer service and a passion to create positive energy and excitement for Chamber members, staff, and volunteers.
This role is responsible for the Chamber’s membership initiatives. The ideal candidate enjoys meeting and helping others, understands the importance of communication to members, and can identify opportunities to add value to our membership.
KEY ACTIVITIES:
Essential duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Membership:
- Execute strategy for Membership Department to include member engagement, retention, communication, sponsorship fulfillment, and database management.
- Attend all Events.
- Identify opportunities to engage members.
- Responsible for membership reporting.
- Create and communicate value-added opportunities for members.
- Manage Membership team.
- Improve communications to members at each touchpoint.
- Oversee the billing and collections of all memberships and sponsorships.
New Members:
- Assist in selling memberships.
- Oversee sales staff.
- Develop sales strategies and tools – primarily for Prosper and Lead members.
- Guide membership staff in onboarding new members.
Administration/Miscellaneous:
- Manage department budget.
- Oversee and guide the Membership Committee.
- Monitor local, state, and national chamber membership trends.
- Make presentations to various internal and external audiences, including the Chamber’s Executive and At-Large Boards, and other bodies as needed.
- Update and enhance department policies and procedures.
- Other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience in a membership organization.
- Four-year college degree, preferably in business, communication, marketing, etc.
- Experience in both written communication and presentations.
- Must have exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Self-learning, self-motivated, member value oriented, and goal driven.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Some domestic travel
- Moderate noise level
- Some lifting of boxes of up to 25 pounds
- Long periods of sitting
- Early morning meetings and evening functions
