ACTION ALERT: Support Economic Development in Texas

April 20, 2023

House Bill 5, the Texas Jobs and Security Act, was recently heard in the Texas House Ways & Means Committee, where it now awaits a vote. HB 5 would create a new economic development program for Texas creating jobs and attracting new investment to our community.

The vast majority of Texas voters – 84%, in fact – believe we are too reliant on other nations for the products we need. This legislation will give our local communities a powerful economic tool to attract jobs and investments as well as create future tax revenue for our schools.

For Texas to remain a national economic leader, we must use tools that other states and countries are using to attract businesses to our state. Please show your strong support for HB 5 by thanking the authors and telling the committee and House leadership why it is important.
