In response to chamber members and area boards, a new way to make strong connections in the Fort Worth business community has arrived. The Fort Worth Chamber’s new Council Coffees have completed their first two pilot events for our members in the South and East area councils and attendees are excited for more.
Fort Worth’s many communities are vast and the city itself is expansive. Each region has its own set of challenges and industry clusters. The Council Coffees were created with this reality in mind and is the core behind its geographic focus. If you did not know, our members are divided into North, East, South, West, and Central councils which is determined by the organization’s zip code. These councils allow us to filter invitations to our members in these regions and facilitate new, hyper-local networking opportunities.
Last week’s South Council Coffee was hosted by the South Area Board at W|R|G. Greg Carter, one of our South Area Board member and W|R|G’s Managing Director, had this to say about the event: “The South Area Board’s goal of making South Fort Worth, and Fort Worth in general, a great place to work, learn, live, and heal is directly aligned with W|R|G’s vision and made it easy to offer our space for the Council Coffee. It allowed our business neighbors and fellow FWC members here in South Fort Worth to fully engage with others in a way that larger events make challenging.”
With the objective of keeping these events local and relationship-driven, Council Coffees present a unique opportunity for our members to make intentional and neighborly business connections. In the opinion of our East Council Coffee attendees, the event allowed exactly that. East Area Board member and Owner of Black Coffee, Mia Moss, opened her space for the group and the event made a surprising impression on Brandon Tolbert of Frost Bank. Brandon, who also sits on the East Area Board, shared “these smaller, more intimate events allowed me to make four strong connections in a way I have never been able to make before. Yes, we can meet people and make connections at other events but here, in this environment, I feel that I was able to actually ‘meet’ these people. To evaluate their strengths. To truly understand their challenges.”
Following the positive feedback received from attendees and hosts alike, more Council Coffees are being planned for more area councils through the end of the year and into 2025. Our Council Coffees and all the other programs we provide are made possible because of your membership with the Fort Worth Chamber.
Stay tuned for more information as we are actively planning future Council Coffees across Fort Worth. If you are interested in hosting a Council Coffee and can comfortably accommodate 20-30 guests please reach out to Henri Nilsen, Manager of Business Advocacy.
