Fort Worth Chamber Joins Letter Supporting Preservation of Pro-Growth Tax Policy

March 6, 2025

The Fort Worth Chamber joined a letter sent to Congress with nearly 500 organizations and 15 Texas-based partners in support of extending the pro-growth, pro-business tax provisions from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. The tax policies from this legislation will fully expire at the end of the year without congressional action. Businesses and individuals across America could face significant tax increases without extension of these policies.

Congress is currently pursuing a pathway for budget reconciliation – a commonly used tool to pass new tax policy. The process first begins with adopting a budget baseline. The letter advocates Congress to adopt a budget baseline that includes the adequate amount of funding extend certain tax provisions in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

As the House and the Senate continue to work to adopt a budget baseline and craft tax policy, it is critical that businesses have the certainty they need to continue to drive economic growth. To read the full letter, click here
