Fort Worth, TX - September 22, 2023
Last week, the Fort Worth Chamber’s West Area Board focused its Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) efforts within the Calmont, Cherry, Alta Mere, and Camp Bowie boundaries. Volunteers and board members engaged with 14 individual companies through door-to-door visits, phone calls, and a business climate meeting.
The primary objectives of these efforts were to understand the needs of these businesses, identify their most pressing challenges, and strengthen community relationships.
The BRE committee learned of several challenges that require attention and action from the community and local authorities. The most prominent challenges identified were homelessness, game rooms, crime, road conditions, and low water pressure.
By gathering valuable insights directly from local business owners, the Chamber aims to identify solutions that will not only mitigate existing challenges but also propel the region towards sustained growth and prosperity.
Through this collaborative effort, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce is optimistic about creating a stronger, more vibrant business climate in West Fort Worth.
Ken Randall, Chairman of the West Area Board and Principal & Senior Electrical Engineer at Baird, Hampton & Brown, summarized the significance of the meeting, saying, "Next, we will share what we've learned with stakeholders. That may include local business owners, elected officials, and the general public. The next step is to take action based on the outcomes."
Looking forward, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce remains committed to its mission of supporting and advancing the interests of local businesses while fostering a positive and prosperous environment for all. With the dedication of community leaders, business owners, and the public, the FWC is confident that West Fort Worth will continue to thrive and work to overcome its challenges, emerging as an even stronger community.
