Tarrant County Senate Delegation Receive Committee Assignments

Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick announced the Texas Senate’s committee assignments this week, establishing the leadership of 17 different committees, special committees, and subcommittees with specific legislative purviews. Included in this session’s Senate committee assignments are prominent roles for multiple legislators among Tarrant County’s delegation. SD 9 – Senator Kelly Hancock (R – North Richland Hills)

  • Chair: Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs
  • Vice Chair: Senate Committee on Water, Agriculture, and Rural Affairs
  • Other committee assignments: Finance, Health and Human Services, Natural Resources and Economic Development, Transportation, Special Committee on Redistricting

SD 10 – Senator Phil King (R – Weatherford)

  • Vice Chair: Senate Committee on Business and Commerce
  • Other committee assignments: Border Security, Criminal Justice, Education, Subcommittee on Higher Education, Transportation

SD 12 – Senator Tan Parker (R – Flower Mound)

  • Vice Chair: Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs

SD 22 – Senator Brian Birdwell (R – Granbury)

  • Chair: Senate Committee on Border Security, Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Economic Development

SD 23 – Senator Royce West (D – Dallas)
