West Area Board Hosts Successful Business Walk to Strengthen Local Economy

November 8, 2024

On October 23, the Fort Worth Chamber’s West Area Board and volunteers gathered for a Business Walk that kicked off at Firefighting’s Finest in West Fort Worth. This initiative connects chamber members with local companies, providing a unique opportunity to listen, learn, and strengthen relationships within the community. The Chamber conducts multiple business walks throughout the year aiming to connect with 500-700 businesses annually.

Board members and volunteers visited 20 area businesses, engaging in meaningful conversations that uncovered the challenges and successes these entrepreneurs face every day. The feedback is invaluable and helps the Chamber refine its efforts to better support the local business landscape.

"The entrepreneur business walk is a great way for chamber members to interact with local business owners,” said Alexander Chandler, a member of the West Area Board and representative of Alexander Advisory Group.

“We were able to not only introduce those we visited to the Chamber, but learn their business concerns so that we may better tailor policies and relay issues for the betterment of the community and also improve relationships.”

During the walk, Hudson Bell, CrossCountry Mortgage Loan Officer and FWC Business Champion, visited Blue Bell Creamery and had the opportunity to enjoy a pint of ice cream.

Business walks are part of the Chamber's broader Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) efforts. The insights gained from these conversations will shape future policies and initiatives, directly impacting the growth of Fort Worth’s economy; the Chamber aims to shape a business climate where all businesses can thrive.

The Chamber is actively recruiting additional volunteers to join its new Business Champions program. This group collaborates with the Business Advocacy committee and area boards to advocate on behalf of local businesses. To join the Business Champion program and learn more about it click here.
