FORT WORTH CHAMBER UNVEILS LOCAL POLICY PRIORITIES

January 26, 2024

During its first full board meeting of 2024, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce finalized its Local Policy Priorities, which outline where the organization stands on a variety of local public policy issues, including infrastructure and mobility, and education and workforce. The document not only charts the organization’s course in terms of its public policy advocacy for City, County, and other local-level discussions, but also conveys to its membership and the public where the organization stands on items that are important to the business community.

The policy priorities can be grouped into five categories:

  1. Economic Competitiveness and Business Climate
  2. Infrastructure and Mobility
  3. Education and Workforce
  4. Public Safety
  5. Quality of Life

The Chamber not only represents the voice of the business community in these critical areas but also proactively advocates for policies that foster a thriving business climate. In doing so, the Chamber ensures that the interests and prosperity of Fort Worth businesses are effectively championed.

The Fort Worth Chamber’s Local Policy Priorities can be read in full here.

We encourage our members to familiarize themselves with these priorities and join us in this important dialogue.

Why it matters: In her 2024 State of American Business address, U.S. Chamber of Commerce CEO Suzanne Clark said: “The role of government is to foster the conditions that enable human potential and empower businesses to serve people, solve problems, and strengthen society.” The Fort Worth Chamber strives to achieve this at the local level through promoting the types of policies outlined above.
