Oncor Celebrates 60 Years with the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce

March 18, 2026

For more than a century, Oncor has worked to ensure Texas communities have access to safe and reliable electricity. As the company celebrates 60 years as a member of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Oncor reflects on a shared commitment of helping North Texas communities thrive.

Founded in 1912, Oncor has grown alongside the areas it serves. What began with the construction of some of the earliest power lines in Texas has evolved into the largest electric transmission and distribution company in the state. Today, Oncor serves more than 10 million Texans across 400 communities and 98 counties, maintaining a vast network of transmission and distribution lines that power homes and businesses across the state.

Supporting a fast-growing state requires constant innovation. Each year, Oncor invests billions of dollars in upgrades and advanced technologies designed to strengthen reliability and build safer and smarter electric infrastructure that can meet the demands of Texas’ continued growth.

Beyond maintaining critical infrastructure, Oncor remains deeply connected to the communities it serves. The company partners with local schools, nonprofit organizations, and civic leaders to promote electrical safety through programs like Super Safe Kids, a traveling roadshow dedicated to educating children about how to stay safe around electricity.

For six decades, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce has been an important partner in that work, providing opportunities for collaboration, advocacy, and engagement with the region’s business community.

Through its partnership with the Chamber, Oncor works alongside business and civic leaders to support economic development, strengthen infrastructure planning, and help ensure the region has the reliable electricity needed to sustain continued growth. The Chamber also provides opportunities for Oncor to connect with local businesses and community partners, reinforcing the shared goal of supporting local economies.

As Oncor celebrates this milestone, the company remains focused on the same mission that has guided it for more than a century, which is to provide the safe and reliable electricity people need to power their modern lives.
