A Message from FWC's President & CEO Regarding the FWISD Intervention

October 24, 2025

Dear Members and Friends,

The anticipated announcement from the Texas Education Agency yesterday is a call to all community leaders to come together in support of students, the district, and new leadership, as our shared commitment will be essential to Fort Worth ISD’s success. The well-being and success of our students remain at the heart of Fort Worth’s future.

In accordance with state law, Texas Education Agency Commissioner Mike Morath announced that he will appoint a board of managers and a conservator to oversee the district and begin the process of selecting a superintendent.

Superintendent Dr. Karen Molinar will continue to lead in the meantime, providing stability for students, staff, and families through this period of transition.

The Fort Worth Chamber encourages local leaders with an unwavering commitment to helping all students receive a quality education to apply to serve on the new board of managers through the TEA’s application process at tea.texas.gov/board-of-managers by November 21, 2025.

The future of Fort Worth students is bright, and the business community stands ready to support the work ahead to strengthen both academic success and workforce readiness for all. When our students succeed, our community succeeds. Leadership that is united in purpose now will shape the possibilities of Fort Worth and its people for years to come.

Sincerely,

Steve Montgomery

President & CEO
